Ford under investigation in the U.S. for its Bronco Sport gas leaks

The U.S. government’s auto safety agency has opened an investigation into a Ford recall for gasoline leaks from cracked fuel injectors that can cause engine fires, saying in documents that the remedy doesn’t fix the leaks. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in documents posted on Apr. 12 that the probe will “evaluate the adequacy and safety consequences of the remedy” that Ford specifies in the recall.

MTY Food Group reports Q1 profits and revenue fall compared to a year prior

MTY Food Group Inc. reported its first-quarter profit fell compared with a year earlier as its revenue also declined. MTY chief executive Eric Lefebvre says the results were hurt by reduced consumer spending and extreme weather, primarily in the first six weeks of 2024. The restaurant franchisor and operator reported a profit of $17.3 million or 71 cents per diluted share for the quarter ended Feb. 29.
