Australian graphene production company Sparc Technologies announced that Sparc Hydrogen has signed a Kick-Start agreement with the CSIRO to test its photocatalytic water splitting (PWS) reactor on the sun at the CSIRO Energy Centre in Newcastle, New South Wales. Sparc Hydrogen is a joint venture between Sparc Technologies, Fortescue Future Industries, and the University of Adelaide.

Austin Engineering Limited has obtained all of its expected purchase orders expected following a successful tender process last year, with an additional 25 per cent in additional orders, under a single contract for truck trays to be transported to Western Australia. The value of the orders received to date is approximately $25 million, the ASX-listed company announced in a press release.

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) announced the launch of a $30 million Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) Funding Initiative to reduce emissions in the aviation sector. Viva Energy Refining has secured a contract with the Department of Defence to deliver aviation, marine, and ground fuel to the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The six-year fuel supply contract, which includes another six-year extension option, will require Viva Energy to supply fuel to the ADF both locally and internationally, including Defence Fuel Installations around Australia and the RMAF Base Butterworth in Malaysia.
