North American robot orders decline in 2023, A3 report finds

A recent Association for Advancing Automation (A3) report finds that robot sales in North American declined by 30 percent in 2023 after record orders in the two previous years. These 2023 orders were divided almost equally among automotive (15,723 robots sold) and non-automotive companies (15,436 robots sold).

According to the latest report from the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), companies ordered 9,168 units valued at $597 million in Q1 2023, a 21% drop in total units and a 10% drop in value over the same quarter in 2022, which was the third-best quarter on record for North America.
