Oct. 23, 2023
More than 553,052 industrial robots were installed in factories around the world in 2022.

Worldwide installation of robots in factories grew 5% in 2022, according to a report by the International Federation of Robots (IFR).

When broken down by region, the World Robotics report shared that of the newly deployed robots, 73% were in Asia, 15% were in Europe and 10% were in North and South America. The robotics markets in Mexico, Canada and Brazil saw significant growth, with the total robotic installation in the Americas rising 8% compared to the year prior and surpassing its peak of 55,212 units set in 2018.

“The world record of 500,000 units was exceeded for the second year in succession,” IFR president Marina Bill said. “In 2023 the industrial robot market is expected to grow by 7% to more than 590,000 units worldwide.”
