Deakin University has released the event program and speakers list for its upcoming Advanced Manufacturing Showcase 2023, which will be held on 5 May at Waurn Ponds Estate.
Supported by AMTIL, Bosch Australia, and Hanwha Defense Australia, the day-long event aims to promote future capabilities in advanced manufacturing, connect with industry peers and showcase successful product commercialisation and research and development initiatives.
A welcoming session will kick off the program, which will then have four streams spread over sessions from 10:00 am to 11:30 am and another from 1:30 pm to 2:50 pm.
Technology demonstrations by Guarda Systems and the Deakin University ASCEND solar car project will also be included on the day.
Chris Bridges-Taylor of B&R Enclosures, Professor Nick Birbilis of Deakin University, state secretary for jobs Bronwyn Halfpenny, Jennifer Conley of the Geelong Manufacturing Council, Phillip Crothers of Boeing, and Richard Merjan of Hanwha Defense Australia will be among the presenters.
Additionally, the event will include an exhibition of commercial entities and research and development organisations as well as unique innovations and first-time demonstrations of technologies.
There will also be tours of cutting-edge facilities including Deakin University’s ManuFutures, the Institute for Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation, the Institute for Frontier Materials and the Centre for Advanced Design in Engineering Training (CADET).
The showcase is presented by ManuFutures, MEMKO Australia and Dassault Systèmes.
