BRACEBRIDGE —  Muskoka Brewery announced they are acquiring Rally Beer Company in an effort to drive growth in their industry’s beer segments.

The parties say this new partnership brings together complementary brands both rooted in an “outdoors inspired lifestyle.”

Founder of Rally Beer, Alan Wood, will join Muskoka Brewery’s team and work with Rally to leverage Muskoka’s operational experience, distribution, and expertise bringing brands to market.

“Rally has pioneered the concept of functional beer in Canada, and we are so excited to be a part of what they have built,” said Todd Lewin, president of Muskoka Brewery, in a statement.

“We are looking forward to bringing together two brands that have championed outdoors inspired beverages and make beer more approachable for all.”

As Muskoka Brewery explained in its statement, functional beer is beer that tries to be healthy — it is higher in electrolytes and crafted for those that lead a more active, “adventure-based” lifestyle.
