What Metal Stamping Activities Does Donlouco Offer? FAQs + More

What is Metal Stamping?

Punching, Forming, Drawing

Donlouco Ireland Ltd has a proven track record for quality and sustainable supply of precision stamped parts.

Supplying many different types of parts and components that are punched, formed, deep drawn etc. to automotive and electromechanical industries.

Metal stamping is a versatile and efficient manufacturing process that involves various techniques, such as punching, forming, and drawing, to transform flat sheet metal into desired shapes.

Punching involves using a specialised tool called a punch to create holes or cutouts in the metal sheet.

Forming, on the other hand, bends the metal into different shapes using dies and presses.

Drawing is a technique that stretches the metal sheet over a die to produce three-dimensional shapes like enclosures.

These processes enable the mass production of high-quality and intricate metal components efficiently and reliably.

What Metal Stamping Activities Does Donlouco Offer?

Donlouco is a company that has expertise in multiple areas of manufacturing, including but not limited to metal stamping, forging, and CNC machining.

We offer a diverse range of metal stamping activities, including:

Progressive Die Stamping: Progressive die stamping is a metal-forming process that can produce complex parts in multiple stages.

Metal coils are fed through the various stations of an auto-transfer production line, each time a new feature is completed. A High-Tonnage Press Machine uses extreme pressure to dictate the shape of a part.

Deep Draw Stamping: Deep drawn stamping is a manufacturing method of forming sheet metal called blanks into parts of complex shapes and features with deep cavities.

Typically, single blanks are used in order to manufacture parts with thick bases and drawn sides. At each step in the deep drawing process, the metal blank is shaped through the extreme pressure applied by a metal die.

Blanking: The blanking process removes pieces of material from the sheet to create the workpiece. Fine blanking, a variation of blanking, makes high-accuracy parts with edge definition and greater surface smoothness.

Bending Creates U, V or L Shapes.

Punching: Punching is the opposite process of blanking. Material is removed from the workpiece instead of removing the material to create a workpiece.

Coining: A type of blanking that creates small round-shaped workpieces. Since it involves large amounts of force to form a small piece, it hardens the metal and removes burrs and rough edges.

Bending: This process is often used to create profiles in U, V, or L shapes. Flanging is a type of bending specifically for sections of a workpiece instead of the whole part.

What Materials Can Parts Be Produced From?

Donlouco manufactures parts from a range of raw materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminium, galvanised steel, brass, bronze, zinc and other requested materials.

Parts can be zinc plated to EN ISO 2081, ASTM B633 Standards, and other standards specific to customer requirements. Donlouco also only used approved suppliers for raw materials to ensure final part quality for customers.
