Bystronic contributes to NBT’s mission of building a diverse manufacturing workforce

Bystronic Inc. has pledged its support to all 2023 girls-only Summer Manufacturing Camps funded by Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs (NBT), the foundation of FMA, to encourage more young women to pursue a manufacturing career.

Of the 236 NBT camps taking place across the country this summer, 27 are specifically focused on attracting girls aged 12 to 16. The company’s gift also includes a donation to NBT’s scholarship program. To date, NBT has awarded more than $1.3 million in scholarships to students enrolled in a degree or training program that leads to a career in manufacturing.

In addition, Bystronic will be the premier Hole-in-One sponsor of GOLF4MFG 2023. The popular golf fundraiser will take place on Monday, Aug. 21, at Glen Flora Country Club in Waukegan, Ill. Proceeds from the event will benefit NBT scholarships and manufacturing camp programs, which are designed to encourage the next generation to pursue manufacturing careers and fill the pipeline of skilled workers.

“It is our privilege to support NBT in their efforts to grow the population of young Americans who desire to join the manufacturing workforce of the United States,” said Bob St. Aubin, president of Bystronic Americas Region. “It is only with such efforts that we will continue to find the passion and talent that our industry needs to remain competitive in a quickly changing world market. And we are particularly pleased to support inclusion by providing the opportunity for more women to learn of the opportunities that our industry has to offer. We would like to thank NBT for allowing us to be a part of this important effort.”
