Meltio’s Horizon toolpath generator software enables use of wire-laser metal 3D printing

Meltio has introduced its Horizon toolpath generator software for 3D printing. The software is tailored to use the laser wire metal deposition process with the Meltio M450 plug-and-play metal 3D printer. Until now, users of the printer have had to employ third-party FFF slicers to prepare toolpaths for it.
In addition to traditional slicing parameters used in FFF software such as layer height, line width, print speed, and support materials, the new software provides tailored access to the laser-wire process and material-specific parameters such as laser power, dual-wire, and hot-wire settings.
All material-related settings are in the slicing software, allowing for full control and a single profile.
