The Tasmanian government is sending a focused industry delegation to Indonesia in November to foster and diversify economic opportunities for Tasmanian businesses in key areas worldwide.
Tasmanian Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the initiative builds on the state’s relationship with Indonesia and is intended to explore opportunities across the emerging maritime training, defence industry engagement, and niche manufacturing markets.
Minister for Advanced Manufacturing and Defence Industries Madeleine Ogilvie will lead the targeted trade mission, along with Tasmanian Defence Advocate Real Admiral Steve Gilmore.
The mission is the next phase of the state’s Trade and Investment Mission Plan 2024.
“Businesses joining our trade mission will receive tailored support and advice on taking their products into the target market and will also act as ambassadors for the maritime and defence industry sectors in Tasmania,” Ogilvie said in a statement.
According to Ogilvie, the Tasmanian government has identified Indonesia as a focused country for opportunities in the maritime and training sectors.
“This trade mission is one more step on the path to open up business opportunities for our high-value, high-performing maritime and defence industries,” she added.
