Last-mile delivery specialist ANC and fleet management company ORIX Australia have established a strategic partnership that would help ANC achieve zero-carbon last-mile delivery.

As part of the partnership, BESTe, a new battery electric vehicle pantech that boasts a 240-kilometre range, will be added to ANC’s fleet.

The vehicle is equipped with a three-phase charging socket, making it fast-charger-ready and enabling a more convenient and cheaper charging experience.

The new truck’s first mission is to deliver for Williams-Sonoma, the world’s largest digital-first, design-led sustainable home retailer.

ANC will make BESTe available on a month-to-month basis for any of its clients, who are seeking to act on their sustainability goals.

“Customers are thinking more and more about their contribution to a more sustainable future and we’re happy to assist in this way,” said Mo Abbas, ANC Group executive for marketing and strategy.

According to ANC, BESTe’s launch reinforces its commitment to breaking down the top four barriers to adoption in the last mile sector, which are: data to inform a conversion strategy, charging infrastructure, cost of capital, and access to stock.

“We’re excited to support ANC by providing sustainable, integrated fleet solutions for their transport needs,” said Grant Harrison, general manager of ORIX Rental and Mobility.

“We recognise our role is to use our expertise to assist clients in identifying solutions that reduce their environmental impact and embed more sustainable practices without compromising their business operations. BESTe is the ideal solution for ANC as it works towards offering a zero-carbon last mile.”
