Demand from industrial users digitising their manufacturing processing is unquestionably growing. This means that OEMs need versatile industrial VSDs for easy integration into hybrid automation systems. In these applications, the Altivar ATV320 machine drive exemplifies safety, reliability, and simplicity. With its robust design, ATV320 offers a reliable solution that helps to reduce installation costs and enhances machine performance.

ATV320 is a variable speed drive designed for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). It meets the demand for both simple and advanced applications of three phase synchronous and asynchronous motors from 0.18 to 15 kW from 200 to 690V. Furthermore, with an operating ambient temperature of -15 to 50 °C it is suitable for use without derating, or 50 to 60 °C with derating.

Offering both book and compact formats, it is suitable for various machine layouts inside a cabinet or machine. The standard model is IP21, or for harsh environments an IP65 version is also available. Typical applications include packaging machines, material handling, textile machine and hoists

For OEMs needing high performance applications for three phase motors from 0.75 to 75 kW, Altivar ATV340 machine drive is available.

Altivar ATV320 connectivity

ATV320 also enables integration with many of the more common Ethernet and serial-based communication networks. Embedded communication protocols include Modbus RJ45 and CANopen RJ45. Optional are Ethernet IP and Modbus TCP, Sub-D and screw terminals, PROFINET, Profibus DP V1, EtherCAT, DeviceNet and PowerLink

Robust

IEC 60721-3-3 class 3C3 coated printed circuit boards extend availability in harsh environments, for example at ambient temperatures of up to 60°C without the need for extra cooling.

Safe

Safety Torque Off and four more functions for full safety monitoring simplify machine certification process and ensure compliance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Capable

Altivar ATV320 offers five easy macros for start/stop, handling, hoisting, general use and PID regulation. Moreover, it also has an onboard PLC capability and sixteen pre-set speeds. In addition, there are three analogue inputs allowing the VSD to act as a signal monitor. Other features include: PID for fan and pump control, positioning by limit switches or sensors, automatic restart, and PM motor open loop control.

Finally, to simplify the equipment design in only three steps, use the online EcoStruxure Motor Control Configurator.
