Meet the speakers for Advance: Women in Manufacturing 2024

The agenda is set for the 2024 Advance: Women in Manufacturing virtual event on March 6, and it’s shaping up to be one you don’t want to miss.
Leaders and employees of every level from all types of ethnic backgrounds and with diverse gender identifications will find sessions of interest as we explore the importance of breaking barriers, advancing women into positions of their choice and #InspireInclusion.
The half-day virtual event, starting at 1 pm ET, will explore strategies to help women power their journey in Canada’s manufacturing industry.
Keynote speaker Anika Sawni, founder and chief brand officer of Grüvi, will share examples of how she learned to stand up to fear and embrace vulnerability to help navigate the challenges of building an award-winning non-alcoholic beverage brand.
The first panel discussion of the day will be on “Inspiring Inclusion.” Panelists Hang Tran, innovation technical product manager, ATS Corporation; Sarab Hans, president, Hans Dairy; and Anne-Marie Pham, CEO, Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion, will delve into strategies and effective workplace policies such as mentorship programs, leadership development initiatives and how to create a supportive ecosystem.
Lauren Ritchie, a high performance career coach and recruiter, will lead participants through a workshop on “Unlocking high performance.”
After the workshop, Mary Fuke, program manager at CWB Welding Foundation, will explore the importance of learning new skills, strengthening existing ones and leaning on your community when times get tough.
Finally, the “Amplifying voices and empowering communication” panel discussion will focus on the pivotal concepts of allyship and advocacy, shed light on the ways in which women can proactively champion their own voices and cultivate strong alliances to foster career advancement. Panelists include Jenny Boudreau, vice-president of supply chain, CertainTeed Canada; Mariela Castano-Kunst, senior vice-president and COO Kunst Solutions; and Sarah Mackinnon, co-CEO and CFO of Delta-Q Technologies.
