Hunter Manufacturing Awards 2023 to officially open

The Hunter Manufacturing Awards Board is inviting interested participants to join the official launch of the 2023 event to be held on 24 May at Mayfield North, New South Wales.

The event, which serves as the official launch of the 2023 award application period, offers attendees an opportunity to network with other supporters of the Hunter manufacturing community.

Truck topper supplier MITS Alloy will host the program, along with the winner of the 2022 Manufacturer of the Year (less than 50 employees) – Sirron Holdings Group.

In the 2022 event, 14 categories were made available for application, including the re-introduction of the Apprentice of the Year- Manufacturing Award category.

HMA chair, Steven Smith, noted at the last year’s event is intended for the manufacturers in the region to support and interact with other manufacturers and have their companies profiled and promoted.

Sponsors of the 2023 event include Downer, an ASX 100 company that provides comprehensive engineering, design, construction, maintenance and management services to the infrastructure, energy and resources sectors across Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific.

Hedweld Group, which is known for the design and manufacture of mining products, will also take part in the 2023 awards 

Aerospace company BAE Systems Australia is one of the sponsors, offering the Australian Defence Force and security customers total capability in vital areas such as through-life support, security, logistics and systems integration.

The event is also supported by the NSW Government, along with TAFE NSW, which aims to skill the workforce for the future through high-quality, personalised education and training.
