MEIDOH Co., Ltd., an international leader in the production of automotive fasteners announced it has acquired Pilgrim Screw Corporation d/b/a Pilgrim Aerospace Fasteners

Pilgrim is a leading manufacturer of screws, bolts, rivets, clevis pins, and other fasteners for the aerospace market with manufacturing operations located in Chandler, Arizona and a small office in Providence, Rhode Island. Pilgrim’s customers include some of the world’s biggest names in the aerospace industry.

MEIDOH, a third-generation company owned by the Hasegawa family, is the premier supplier of bolts to Toyota.  They have manufacturing plants in Japan, China, Indonesia, Thailand, and the United States with more than 2,000 employees worldwide.

MSC INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY Co. premier distributor of Metalworking and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) products and services to industrial customers throughout North America announced that it has acquired KAR Industrial Inc. (KAR), a metalworking distributor supplying measuring and cutting tools, machine tool accessories and other manufacturing related supplies across Canada’s industrial landscape.

 Optimas Solutions made two strategic hires expected to help further support the company’s complementary direct manufacturing and distribution business strategy. Jim Heller was named Senior Vice President of Distribution, and Chris Martens was named Vice President of Manufacturing for the Americas region.

In their partnership with Trex Fastenal collects and bales shipping plastic film from 13 distribution centers keeping 600,000 pounds of plastic out of the landfill in the first year alone. Last year Fastenal reused or recycled 70% of the materials that went through their distribution and manufacturing network. Trex repurposes one billion pounds of reclaimed materials in the making of its products, including approximately 400 million pounds of plastic film.

One of the most misunderstood themes between fastener manufacturers and customers is the application of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GDT) on prints. The Fastener Training Institute and the Industrial Fasteners Institute are offering a 2-day course “Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing for Fasteners | February 19 & February 20, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at IFI Headquarters, Independence OH. The award was created by NFDA to honor individuals and companies that make a substantial positive impact on people’s lives.
