CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, is providing support for small and medium-sized businesses working on new advanced manufacturing solutions through its free R&D program.
SMEs working on new advanced manufacturing solutions can sign up to join the free, 10-week Innovate to Grow online program, to build their R&D knowledge.
Upon completion of the program, CSIRO will provide eligible participants with dollar-matched funding and facilitation support to connect to research expertise nationally.
Marcus Zipper, director of manufacturing at CSIRO, said the agency is uniquely positioned in the research ecosystem to drive innovation to advanced Australian manufacturing.
“At CSIRO, we work collaboratively with SMEs on research and development to find new and improved technologies and processes that enable great ideas to see success locally and internationally,” Zipper said. “We translate research into products and processes that businesses want to adopt because what we’ve created is economically viable, more efficient and effective, and sustainable.”
The Innovate to Grow: Advanced Manufacturing program is open to SMEs working in the following sub-sectors:
- Digital solutions and Smart robotics
- Additive manufacturing
- Advanced materials and processes
- Quantum technology
- Mechatronics design and engineering
- Biomedical manufacturing
Registration for the program is slated to close on 17 July. Innovate to Grow is open to a total of 25 SMEs and will commence on 10 August. To register and for more information, visit csiro.au/advancedmanufacturing.
