“WE’VE CHANGED THE GAME”: TEAMSTERS WIN HISTORIC UPS CONTRACT
DEAL RESULTS IN HIGHER WAGES, MORE JOBS, EQUAL PAY, A/C, MLK DAY, PART-TIME REWARDS
The Teamsters reached the most historic tentative agreement for workers in the history of UPS, protecting and rewarding more than 340,000 UPS Teamsters nationwide. The overwhelmingly lucrative contract raises wages for all workers, creates more full-time jobs, and includes dozens of workplace protections and improvements. The UPS Teamsters National Negotiating Committee unanimously endorsed the five-year tentative agreement.
Global investment breakthrough from Norm Holding in their 50th year.
Mehmet Fatih Uysal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Norm Holding, said that they are proud of reaching 50 years as a family business. Stating that the third generation has taken over the business at the Holding, Uysal said, “My father Nedim Uysal laid the foundations.
“We are establishing a production facility in America” Uysal shared his new term investment goals as follows: “The USA is an important market for us. In the past years, they have imposed additional taxes on the fasteners they import. This situation led us to establish a factory as it caused an increase in freight costs and negatively affected our competitiveness.
Our factory will be completed in 1.5 years. It will be an investment of approximately 45 million euros. Whatever we produce about fasteners in Turkey will also be produced there. First of all, we will observe the needs of the other countries of the continent in time, as the needs of America will be met.”
