Acquisition of JM Test Systems – Calibration and Testing Company
Kanbrick, a long-term investment partnership focused on investing in and building founder- and family-owned businesses, has announced its partnership with JM Test Systems, which calibrates, repairs and tests a wide variety of equipment. Kanbrick will partner with current owners, the Morrison family, to support the next phase of growth for the business.
For nearly half a century, JM Test Systems has been dedicated to helping the world run accurately and safely by calibrating, renting, and distributing test and measurement equipment and providing other related services and products.

The idea for JM Test began in 1982, when founder Ed Morrison, an equipment manager for a large instrumentation and electrical contractor in Louisiana, USA saw an opportunity to enhance service for customers. He knew just how important high-quality certified test equipment was to a jobsite. But when he couldn’t find vendors that lived up to his standards, he launched JM Test out of a borrowed trailer in a backyard. He grew the firm and eventually passed the business on to his three sons, who have run JM Test and helped expand to 10 locations in the United States.

JM Test’s full-service metrology labs provide sales, rental, test, and calibration services for customers’ mission critical test & measurement and electrical safety equipment. JM Test is increasingly bringing its convenient pick-up and delivery services and onsite testing and calibration services to more local markets in the United States.
